Petromax insert for Atago grill griddle

The Petromax insert for the Atago grill plate is a steel accessory, like a mini-sized grid, that adds versatility to the possibilities offered by the Atago grill plate.

This insert can be placed directly in the central cavity of the Atago grill plate, or combined with the Petromax cooking support for the Atago grill plate.

By placing the insert in the center of the griddle, the central gap is covered, and therefore food can be placed in the center of the griddle without fear of it falling through the opening. This grate allows food to be roasted in the central area, giving it the unmistakable flavor of fire and giving it the characteristic grill marks, at the same time that other foods are roasting on the grill plate.

The Petromax insert also offers a stable place of support in the central area, to place Dutch ovens, fire pans or percolators directly on the fire, on the cooking support, and to prepare pan dishes, soups, sauces, coffee or tea, while other foods are roasted on the griddle.

When adding more firewood or charcoal, you can use barbecue tongs to easily lift the insert, either from the cooking support or the Atago griddle, and be able to access the fire through the central hole of the grill. Atago grill plate or cooking support.
